Meeting Cousin Ti!

My aunt and Ti came into town last week and my cousin Ti finally got to meet Chance.  They hit it off!!  She's going to be one of my best baby sitters!  Now, they just have to move closer :-)

Happy 8 Months!

Another month has come and gone and our little guy is now 8 months old, 4.5 adjusted.  He is now rolling from back to tummy but gets stuck and can't roll back over.  Since getting the DOC band he seems to have forgotten how to roll from tummy to back.  Poor guy has been getting a heat rash on his forehead so we've been having to leave his DOC band off for a couple days at a time now to let it heal.

Chance has a lot to say these days!

The path of life

In my devos this morning I was reminded how The Lord has designed a chosen path for each of us. He has the power to give us all the riches, all the peace, and anything beyond our wildest dreams but chooses for us to trudge day end and day out along our chosen path. It goes on to say that somedays the journey is arduous and we are weak. Other days, our step is light and we are dancing on the high peaks. All He requires for us to do is to not give up and to take that next step. Always clinging to and looking for His hand for strength and guidance. More so during the times when we are lost and weak. Even though our chosen paths may be tough and the scenery not always breathtakingly beautiful; there's always the calm after the storm, the rainbow after the rain. We just have to stay on our chosen path!  That in itself seems to be what we struggle with most in life. For when we cloud our minds and thoughts, we're unable to hear the spirit's guiding words.

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11

Mr. Chance tried avocados yesterday and loves them!!!  That's a wonderful thing because he needs all the extra fat he can get ;-)

1st tooth!

This little cutie is getting his first tooth!  I'm thinking that might have been what contributed to his lack of eating last week. I can't see the tooth yet but I can def feel it!

Austin getaway

We escaped to Austin over the 4th of July for a couple days.  It was a much needed break!  We stayed at Barton Creek Resort which was very nice.  We had slim pickins because of the holiday.  We drove around a lot and looked at all the beautiful, monstrous houses (what do those people do for a living anyways?!) and ate A LOT of food!

Chance took another backslide with his eating last week.  It's extremely taxing for me emotionally when he does that.  He had reached 13 lbs but lost a few precious ounces :-((((  He's been gaining 1 pound a month but hasn't reached the 13 like he should and it's been a month.  So... we will see.  I have felt paralyzed with worry and fear.  I hate having to worry daily (yeah right, more like hourly) over his feeds.  My devo today was over worry, very fitting.  It said when your mind is so clouded with worry, His voice is muffled and therefore I can't hear Him, only white noise.  My prayer is for my mind to quiet.  And Chance's appetite will increase.

He's making good growth with his DOC band.  They are predicting treatment for at least 9 weeks, it's been 2 weeks so far.

Other than that, Chance is doing great!  He's totally quit rolling over but can almost roll from back to tummy.  He has also started getting his feet by himself!  And everything goes into his mouth!  No teeth yet!

Also, Chance's apnea monitor download came back fine so we are officially monitor free now!!!!!!!  Yay!!

Veggie time!

Chance has been enjoying trying new veggies!!  His fav so far are sweet potatoes and peas. We tried peaches today too ;-) Chance does much better on solids than with his bottle.  He's been teetering around the 13 pound mark.

Chance went to the cardiologist this week for a follow up on his PDA surgery. All is well except his right heart pressure is acceptable high basically due to his BPD-lungs. His pulm doc says the levels will work their way out. He got a sono and an EKG.

Mmmmm sweet potatoes!

Napping buddies!
